Be among the first to see the street photography of the enigmatic Vivian Maier.

Vivian Maier’s life has proven to be one of the most enduring and fascinating art world narratives of the last decade. The story of this Chicago-based nanny who pursued photography in her spare time inspired an Oscar-nominated documentary film and several books. Since her work came to light, Maier’s indelible images have gone on to garner worldwide acclaim through several exhibitions, including Vivian Maier: In Her Own Hands which is opening at Glenbow on Feb 8, 2020.

Off-Country: The 427's and Peter & the Wolves

Surf rockers The 427's join forces with rockabilly outfit Peter and the Wolves for a night of wild Western-inspired rock 'n' roll.

Music Mile welcomes the CCMAs and Country Music Week with OFF-Country September 5-7: 3 days, 16 venues and 45+ shows along the Mile, celebrating local and international musicians who are just a little off country. Enjoy blues, roots, bluegrass, rock and more at your fave venues.

An authentic surf culture experience comes to Calgary. Join us for an evening of entertainment with surf rock orchestra curated by The 427’s in the shadow of the Rockies. Come down and chill by the Bow with all your friends and family.

There will be a delicious pig roast by One18 Empire and don’t worry, there is a vegetarian option too! Be sure to pick the proper ticket according to what meal you would like.

Admission is free and the space is licensed all ages.

Food tickets must be purchased by July 26

In honour of #YYC's favourite 10 days of the year, #KingEddyYYC is bringing you a multi-genre roundup of sizzlin' hot tunes for Stampede 2019. Catch this country-and-more lineup all day and all night on a historic stage just 600 metres from Stampede Park.

The 4th Street Lilac Festival

This free one day event is the start up to Calgary's vibrant festival season, and encourages citizens to shake off their winter blues and reintroduce themselves to the thriving creative community in our city.

Each spring, thousands of attendees come out to enjoy the unique and pedestrian friendly 4th Street venue, offering an array of musical talent, artisan vendors, quality entertainment and some perfect people watching.

At the Lilac Festival, there is an activity made for all ages. This could mean a jump in the bouncer for the kids, discovering a great new band, choosing a perfect summer patio or searching for a trendy fashion; there is no shortage of things happening.

Calgary's best surf-rock outfit, The 427's, join forces with award-winning rockabilly steampunks from the north, Punch Drunk Cabaret, for the first annual Midwinter Meltdown sponsored by Hard Knox Brewery. Combat the drudgery of long Alberta winters with a high energy show that heavily favours audience participation and a distinctly retro edge. $15 cover. Seating is limited. WAYNESTOCK Music Festival 2018 held September labour day long weekend in Wayne Alberta.

What's WAYNESTOCK? We're a small boutique music festival offering a a niche experience as a smaller, more intimate music affair. The variety of roots, rock, country, hillbilly, blues, steam punk, bluegrass, and alternative music playing over the weekend is endless during the festival, with a huge mix of talented performers and artists providing a diverse range of entertainment each day!

The 427’s create instrumental surf rock influenced by '60s surf music, spaghetti westerns, and film noir. Nominated for “Instrumental Recording of the Year” at the Western Canadian Music Awards for their debut EP, their first full-length spent seven weeks in the !earshot National Top 50 charts. "Stay Gold", their follow-up, delves deeper into film noir themes while retaining their surf guitar roots.
